What's wrong with India taking care of the own people?

Hi,

I live in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. I have a question for Indians. What is going wrong in your country that so many Indians are desperate to leave their home country and want to work in the UAE?

On one hand I know that India is a developed country but on the other hand, why is there still so much poverty? Why is there such a discrepancy between rich and poor?

India was one of the world's poorest economies when it won its independence from Britain in 1947. Incredibly, 60 years later, the country's emerging economic clout has made it Asia's top spot for billionaires."

Why is India not taking care of their own people? Why do these people leave the their own county to survive? Very often illiterate workers also get cheated by their own people and end up in depths. Their way out is to commit suicide. Indianas in the UAE jumping in front of cars so that the family can collect bloodmoney.

May I please ask what is wrong with Indians or your system?

dude!! India is highly populated... and jobs are limited... there's a big amount of corruption goin on... but now i guess since call centers have come up alot of youngsters are able to earn some money and do some' for themselves.... It's true indians arent doin much since the rich ones aren't helpin the underprivileged.... But sometimes there's stuff u can't control

No doubt that India is amongst the two most promising economies in Asia, but its a country of demographic, geographic and economic contrast. A large population unevenly distributed in more than 50 states, and these states have their own legislature, rights, budgets and problems. Center is strong but it can not interfere in all matters of an state. So you will find each state with a different demography, different culture, different economy and so forth.

Education and health care are the biggest challenges. And every state try to meet these challenges differently, center can not interfere and it is lacking the resources as well. So there is a huge contrast, Bihar for example or UP are amongst the most poor, with majority of population illetrate, purely agrarian societies. While states like Gujrat or Maharashtra are more industrial. Kerala has highest education rate, AP is doing good in almost every sector, Punjab is very good in Agriculture and related industries while states like Rajhastan are still trying to wake up, they have good tourism industry.

Then there are densly populated states like Bangal, where to have basic human necessities is very difficult for common man, though Bangal has good education rate.

Now you can understand why it is very difficult to cope with the challenges in India, but they are doing good. In fact only India is the true hope for secular and rational forces in Asia. If India fails, there is no hope.

People leave to improve their living standard, I wish you can once travel or watch the railway or bus transport, or people lining up for basic necessities. They have less resources and more masses.

Never the less she is a very big market, hence there are billionaires there.

India is proud of the people of India working all over the world for the welfare of the human being on earth .Look into the rich tradition of India  for world peace also .

Countries in the world are also respecting India and Indian citizens everywhere .

Nothing wrong with India the 2nd largest populated Democratic Country who has been thru thick n thin.

For people it is just easy to say anything but when it comes on your head than you will know what takes to become rich-poor.

If you are indian born than how will you solve this problem which is going since last 60-years !!!

poverty is not only in India but also in many other countries.. please check out wikipedia to help you out.

Thanks to India who has given this world some good Scientist, Engineers, Builders, Doctors, Researchers, .... etc adding up big help to overseas countries.

UAE without Indians will be in a BIG Mess.

There may be many answers to yr q.

People don't understand that with limited resources, they can't afford big family. That is the biggest luxury ppl are enjoying in India- that is not available to many richer country people- bringing a child every year! People in advanced countries understand the importance of small family norms themselves, and can't even dream of 'enjoying' that 'luxury'.

Other reason is corruption. The corrupt leaders have taught it to all, and it has become difficult for honest to survive.

If petrol rich countries lure such people by their promise of easy money, it is not the country's fault.

I am sorry my friend,I don't know from where you are and who you are.I respect India and Indian people they work hard to earn there bread,and don't cheat others,your second answer,were you grown in a day that you became so big question it took you to years to grow up,so is the growth of country also.thread why Indians are going out of country for job,so that is international system nor you can change nor me.Do you know how have grow in big counties as Doctors ,scientist,businessman and so on they are Indians,and new generation is getting better and well paid jobs they refused to go out of India and even people from other countries going to India.
