I was watching my niece and we were watching nickelodeon. The show was called the brothers garcia, and they were talking about tequila, a girl was called a w***e, they were talking about being knocked up-using the words knocked up,they were drinking beer in a bar, they said p**a, which is spanish for w***e, and the mom said "your dad didn't know how to use a d**n condom." It's NOT appropriate for children, I was in shock. Who are these shows supposed to be entertaining? It's not just this show, there are many shows on disney and nickelodeon that are inappropriate. Why do they allow this?

  1. actually that show is called george lopez and i assume your daughter watched it at 10 30, anyways that show is shown at 10 30 for a reason, its more of a teen to adult show and in my opinion the rating is a little off. they don't expect somebody whatever your niece age is to watch it.now the stuff on those show is starting to be meant for teenagers, less of the younger crowd. all of the shows on nickelodeon during the day are more appropriate such as avatar and othe cartoons.

  2. That is terrible!! I don't know if it's too drastic, but I would try to express my dissapointment to Nickelodeon. They need to know we won't stand for that garbage for our children to watch.

  3. I would assume that show is directed at typical teenagers not at young children. I suppose they want to attract all ages of 'kids' (meaning not yet adults, not necessarily 10 year olds) to watch their channel?

  4. OMG:-O

  5. the brother's garcia is an older show. that's from when i was a kid like 10 years ago. i liked it but i dont remember much about it. kids dont remember that stuff. but it is surprising. i was watching some tv with my younger siblings and some really inappropriate stuff came on. it becomes a problem when they ask me what that stuff is and repeat it. they shouldnt know that kinda stuff at their age.

  6. The only thing these big TV producers are concerned about is the money that they make.  They don't care about kids, or the future of them either.  I'm so fed up, I am considering only having a TV to watch movies on, as a family.  No cable subscription for ANYONE.

  7. Never watched it but shows after a certain time are meant for teens or adults not children on nickelodeon.  Nick at Nite is made more for adults.  Childrens shows are on before 9 pm and little kids shows are on before usually noon or 3 pm at the latest.

  8. I know what you mean.  It's not just shows that are on during the evening and geared toward tweens and teens.  One show, a so-called NickToon, or whatever, Called The Mighty B, is just undeniably crude.  She is a disgusting child- constantly picking her nose or farting.  I know that's natural and all, but making it the butt of a huge joke (no pun intended) in a kids show is just nasty.  My son loves SpongeBob, but I'll only allow it once in a blue moon (like when I forget to change the channel after Dora the Explorer is over), because it is somewhat gross- not nearly The Mighty B, but not quite what I want my children watching or learning from.  What people have to realize is that no matter how young or old a child is, they are always learning and absorbing what they see, and if they see this stuff as acceptable, then they'll behave that way.  It's proven fact- just look at my nephews- they're total heathens.

  9. That show was not for small kids, and there's nothing wrong with having a show that's actually realistic for once. Kid shows today are so mind-numbingly pathetic and people wonder why Americans are stupid.

  10. You have to understand something about television.  It's a business, and its purpose is to make money.  Period.

In order to make money, television shows people what they want to see.

If people stop watching garbage, the shows will change.

Therefore, instead of blaming television, we have to look at our own viewing habits.

  11. I remember that show. :] That show is geared more towards older kids. Not hyounger kids. It's not meant to be a kids how.
