Housing prices are lower there than anywhere in the country as far as I know. So why doesn't anybody want to live there? What are the good things other than the housing market about the midwest?

  1. N.O.T.H.I.N.G.  You get all four seasons, my personal favorite, and higher taxes...I live in Wisconsin, and we're usually in the top ten states for highest taxes...which is GOOD thing! Higher taxes -> better schools, teachers, hospitals, roads... People who earn an education here typically do exceptionally well in other areas.

  2. I think it’s the most boring place (excepted Chicago) I never visited in the USA. So I can understand that US people don’t enjoy living there. You say that real estate prices are are the lowest of the country. Don’t you think that it is one of the consequences?

  3. There is no seacoast!

I simply couldn't survive without the ocean just past my front doorstep!

  4. It's boring

  5. Some states ARE better than others. Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri, all right. You DO  NOT want Illinois. I am from there. I always encourage people to avoid it.
