I have a 1986 Honda Fourtrax 125 that just flat won't start. A long time ago we got it to start and the engine would slow down if you didn't rev it, and then if you didn't rev it, the engine would die and I had to keep starting it. Now, a year later, we have decided to fix it. What's wrong with it?

  1. Clean the carburetor.

Especially the pilot jet (long and thin).

Remove the pilot jet and hold it up to the light - you should be able to see through it.

The jet's opening is as small as a pin and is easy to clog with bad gas.
