Question:

What's wrong with my Dragon Tree? (It's small and in an indoor pot)?

I bought this really cool plant at IKEA in like the beginning of March. It's called a Dragon Tree. It's small and the tag said for low light indoors, it also said to let it dry out between waterings. I've done all that, except that a few months ago I did forget to water it for a little while, but it seemed to get better. So now it looks like it's dying! and I don't know what to do! I put it outside because I thought maybe it does need some sunlight, am I right? any other suggestions?

  1. Any house plant that you put outside, Keep out of the sun, It will be too strong for even sun loving houseplants.

It usually cannot tolerate direct sunlight even though the plants enjoy high light situations the best. However, almost any light level will do

Other wise it just needs basic care. Water once a week and you can leave it outside in the shade until the outside night temperatures stay in the low 60's.

Marginata is very susceptible to fluoride toxicity. It is best to water with rain water or distilled water. Even if you let the tap water set out in an open container, 24 hours before watering will help.

  2. it might be root bound ,i you pull it from the pot and find a ball of roots ,that probably is your problem ,it may need a pot with more room..................tom
