Question:

What's wrong with my Mozilla Firefox?

Here's the problem: My internet seems to be working perfectly in my other browsers but Mozilla Firefox doesn't seem to let the pages load. Also CPU usage for Firefox is a horrendous amount: 95-98%!!! When I exit the Firefox browser, my CPU usage is the same and when I try to get back on to Firefox, it says that it's still running and there's some kind of error. It says that perhaps I need to restart. I've restarted the computer a bunch of times and I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox two times but the problems are the same. What's up?

I also ran all of my scanners:

1. Ran McAffee

2. Ran Disk Clean Up

3. Ran Disk Defragmenter

4. Ran Ad-Aware

But it says that there are no viruses or other any odd problems. Help :(

  1. It sounds to me like you are running a beta version of Firefox 3.0 as it used to exhibit exactly this behaviour under some conditions.  Go to the Help menu and select "About Mozilla Firefox".  If the version mentions anything about version 3.0 and beta or pre-release then you need to download the latest version.

You can get the latest version at http://www.mozilla.com.
