What's wrong with my Rockford Phosgate!!!???

I have a rockford phosgate 400.4

when i turn it on it powers my speakers and everything just fine but when i go to turn my car, it makes my bass let out a loud thump? what can i do?

is it broken and should i return it?

  1. its not broken. I had the same problem because I was kinda new and no one told me. your amp is wired to your battery and if you don't turn on your car and just hit the switch the bass is going to start hitting. there is no music playing so yeah. so turn it on when your car is on and turn it off before you turn your car off. hope this helps.


  2. your RCAs crossed something that has power running through it. windows motor wire, the wires from starter, something....  It probably wouldn't be any different with a differenat amp and different RCAs although you might have them better installed

  3. If I was you, I wouldn't even bother to tamper with it, and take it back to the shop, and tell them to fix it, if you got it under ''warranty''

    Lol.

    But yea, that's what I would do.
