Question:

What's wrong with my TV and can I fix it?

I just moved, and presumably, the movers damaged it. The menus and picture have gone crazy; it's like the TV is on acid.

Here's a picture:

Anyone know what's wrong and if it can be fixed?

Thanks.

  1. Seems your TV's LCD/Plasma has been damaged. The screen is very soft so even slight bumps will damage it. You will need to get another LCD panel put it. The cost of that though would most likely be around the cost of a new TV though.

You could contact the manufacturer and see if it is covered by warranty.

  2. Wow......do you know if the tv was tipped, or wrapped correctly?  Is your tv an LCD or plasma or CRT?

If it's a CRT, the tubes/lamps have been shifted - only way to fix that is to replace the tubes, assuming that the pinning hasn't been misaligned.

If it's a plasma - that's 100% damaged and not correctable - your movers owe you another tv.

If it's an LCD, again, it's damaged beyond repair and the movers owe you another tv.

I do recommend that you try resetting the television; look in your manual and you may find a reset option to have the television restored to default settings.

If that doesn't help, then I'm very very sorry to say that your movers did a half-*** job of transporting your television.
