Question:

What's wrong with my TV?

When I switched my TV on yesterday, after it had been turned off all day, it started acting strange.

The following all took place over a span of about 20 minutes: first, the sound would cut off everytime I changed a channel; then, every time I pressed 'return/last channel' or the channel up/down buttons on the remote, it would jump to channel 9 (only going elsewhere when I typed a specific number). Then even that wouldn't change the channel. (I went and tried the buttons on the TV itself, but they wouldn't work either, so I'm pretty sure it's not the remote's fault.) I tried unplugging it for 15 minutes, and reprogramming the channels, but all that's done is get the TV stuck on channel 1. The only thing that works now is the power button on the TV.

This TV (a small Polaroid flat-panel HD on cable) is only a year and a half old, and I'd sort of hoped it would last longer, considering what it cost. Does anyone know how I could fix it, or should I just give up and get a new one?

  1. what kind of tv do u have and do u have cable?maybe call the companie

  2. Ask the person who installed cable in your tv is you have cable

  3. Give it a day or two, smack the side if you have to. See if it's still under warranty. If not, looks like you just got a dud and need to start over. Avoid Polaroid this time around!

  4. Try leaving it unplugged overnight, you may have scrambled the micro processor by giving it too many commands at once. If that doesn't work, rather than buy a new TV it may be more cost effective to have it repaired.

  5. It burnt. black is taking over do not watch fat lips fake straight hair people.
