What's wrong with my angelfish?

Question

I have 2 pairs of angelfish and both pairs fight over this one end of the tank cuz it has a big black filter that they liek to lay their eggs on. One of the pairs laid eggs on it this morning, and are very protective, only this time I saw the female from teh other pair around the filter and was getting picked on a little bit, not for long though. She is very fat about 3/4 to an inch thick (her stomach). She is desperate to lay her eggs and is veyr sluggish.

We put her and her male mate in another tank and she's still very sluggish and can't swim very well or is just in pain. She looks liek she's about to explode with eggs, we put a big black piece of slate in teh tank she's in, and won't lay her eggs. Wtf is wrong?

Mine like to lay their eggs on a flat leaf, maybe she would like a plant like that?

How big is the tank they're in?  It may be best to separate the pairs and give them each their own space to spawn.  The stress from the fighting could be triggering her to NOT spawn.  Just watch that your swollen female actually has eggs, and isn't constipated or suffering from dropsy.
