Question:

What's wrong with my axel?

I don't wrap my leg in the air but I kinda swing out of it.

Hard to explain and Youtube is refusing to cooperate.

But could you guys give me some tips on how to prevent swinging legs and leg wrapping for axels??

  1. This is how i got my axel i had some similar problems and i used these tips to help solve them.

    when you are going to do your axel start on a line and put your feet in an upside down t similar to the position of a t stop

    next make a nice curve using your outside edge

    bring your right legthroughh like you are kicking a soccer ball and then bring your left leg over ann bring your arms in

    when you have completed the rotation put your toe pick down and quickly put your heal down

    ****to prevent swinging dont lean too forward during the take off stay in a sitting position as if you were to sit in a chair and then bring your knee through. doing this will prevent leg wrapping

  2. Are you swinging your leg out of your backspins?

    I had that problem for a while until my coach noticed I was swinging my leg out of my backspin. Make sure you kick your leg straight back when you exit the backspin.
