Question:

What's wrong with my baby goat?

He went to the vet and the vet doesn't know what the h**l is up either. He's drooling, stumbling, constantly turning around, not eating, not swallowing and falling. My mom thinks it could be some kind of stroke, my dad thinks it's might be a birth defect or a brain tumor. The birth defect sounds plausible, he is the mother's first kid. So any ideas on what it could be?

  1. Maybe the kid is drunk

  2. i just wanted to say its cute you have a baby goat sounds like a brain tumor

  3. The things that can cause this in goats is Listeriosis, Foot and Mouth Disease, Tetanus, Goat Polio (Polioencephalomalacia), Floppy Kid Syndrome (it's a Clostroidial infection), Mycotoxum poisoning, Entrerotoxemia, and acidosis.  Your vet should certainly be able to determine what's wrong with him...consult another vet.  You need to make sure that this is something that won't spread to other goats if you have them.  Floppy Kid syndrome is a good possiblity.....the chances of a stroke or brain tumor are extremely small.
