Ok, firstly, I am definately not pregnant, I'm always safe, doubled up with condoms and the pill, and I've done numerous tests that all say negative, so theres no chance of that.

However I haven't had a period for about 4 or 5 months, and I'm beginning to worry theres something wrong with me. I am 19, and they used to be regular, although they have always been painful and heavy. In January, I had a period that lasted for 7 weeks, then another about a month after, and nothing since!! I have suffered with anorexia, but I recovered a little while ago, and I'm now a healthy weight, and I exercise and eat properly. Could this still affect my periods? I've been to the doctor and I'm having an ultrasound in a couple of weeks as well as blood tests, but I'm so frightened something will be wrong with me. Please help :(

  1. doubled up with condoms, that worsens it, causes friction

  2. I go through the same thing. Except I skip 2 months and stay on for 2 months straight. I have cysts on my ovaries..... could also have something to do with your weight change.

  3. it the pills they  mess up ur cycle go to the hospital

  4. It's pretty common considering your situation.

Whenever you make drastic changes to your diet or exercise it can make you become irregular.

Also, if you mean you're using two condoms at once when you say "double up," that's a good way to make them rip.

    Stick to one.

  5. Definently go to your doctor

  6. Well i think that you should just go to the doctors, if there is anything wrong then you'll find out by them,

  7. Well depending on how long ago you recovered from anorexia it may still be effecting you. Stress, too much exercise, and plenty of other things can effect it as well. It could be that your not getting enough of a certain vitamin or nutrient (Many women have trouble with their blood-iron content, even when healthy). He may just suggest you begin taking vitamins. I wouldn't worry too much about it because there are various simple things it could be and worrying can make it worse. I hope all goes well at the doctor.

  8. go to your doctor, dont be afraid. it may have to do with the change in your body. it is normal. for your health's sake go to your doctor.

  9. You have said that you are on the pill, are you sure you are using it correctly? are you having breaks and such? My friend kept taking her pill, then stopped and was bleeding for more than 3 months.

It deffo sounds like the pill is the problem, perhaps its not the right pill for you, many women have problems with the pill and i beleive that it may be yours. The fact you have painful periods is also mirrored to the pill, a correct pill with the correct dosage should limt the pain or even stop it, some ppl even go on the pill for the fat that it stops period pains!

I think you should see your doctor, and explain to him/her everything you have said here, and dont panic, sometimes periods are reluctant in coming, there is prob. no problem just relax and see ur doctor, and maybe have some checks to see the pill is working with your body.

    i hope this helps

  10. Have you changed your birth control pill?  Odds are you'll be fine, you may just have a cyst on an ovary.  Best thing to do is to get it checked.  It is worrisome, I know....

    Good luck.

  11. it may be your pill...because some lighten ur period and in some lucky cases stop it all together

  12. have you went through any really stressful situations. (for example maybe made a major move or starting college??)  Stress can cause your periods to be all out of wack.  Also what birth control are you on?  I tried Seasonale that only has you have a period every 3 months you get 4 periods a year and it really helps if you're periods were heavy and painful!!  Also recovering from anorexia may have a role in that if you have gained more weight recently.  A sudden increase or decrease can cause things to mess up also.
