Question:

What's wrong with my car Stereo?

A while ago I posted a question saying that the CD player in my car wouldnt work. Yesterday I simply banged on the top of the unit and it started working!

Occasionally the CD will still cut out, or report an "error" in the disk, but this can still be fixed by banging on the top of it. Is there a loose wire/connection or something?

  1. i had the same problem not to long ago. all you have to do is remove the head unit and make sure all the wires are connected the proper way. another thing make sure no wires are touching each other. it can damage the headunit. wrap each wire with electrical tape.

  2. or something hits the nail on the head i think ?

  3. It may be nothing more than a loose Ground wire.

  4. There could be a loose wire like you said. But there could also be some internal problems with the CD player. The eye inside could be dirty. Try getting some air duster and spray that in it. You might just get lucky and not have to buy a new one. I had the same problem with mine and I used air duster and its worked since.
