What's wrong with my chinchilla??

(note: I AM taking him to the vet asap. I just want any extra info)

a few days ago my chinchilla began making a cough/sneeze sound while gagging & trying to vomit type action

He was temporarily on aspen bedding but we now changed it back to carefresh & a couple months ago we had to change his food. Those are the only things that have changed from his usual care.

Aside form the coughing & gagging, he seems fine. Normal f***s, clear eyes, normal appetite & energy, etc.

Any ideas on what it could be?

(again- he IS going to the vet!)

well its good that everything else is normal  Its good you are taking him to a vet, asap, because chinchillas can get really sick really fast.    i would take him to a vet even if he seems better just be be on the safe side.  He might have a respiratory infection.  I think you should do some research into that and see if he has the symptoms. If he does, he might be given an antibiotic. I hope he gets well soon.
