Question:

What's wrong with my computer? How can I fix it?

I've started running out of memory on my computer so it's running slowly and sometimes just freezing up. I've tried deleting files and moving stuff onto the other drives but whenever I free up any space it just suddenly fills up again and I don't know what with. It's stopped running programs and there's no memory to do that defrag thing. Does it have a virus? What should I do?

Thanks :)

  1. First open folder options and check show hidden files and folder next uncheck hide protected operating system files

Then delete folders named $RECYCLE.BIN and RECYCLER

from you hard drive ( They are present in each of your partitions)

  2. If you press Cntrl+ALt+Delete and go into task manager select the processes tab and delete uneeded processes.Dont delete explore or any system processes.

  3. A VIRUS.........install AVG

  4. Try avast. Better than AVG and it is free

It is a very effective anti-virus program.

  5. Try the following:

Remove all infections that it finds after scan.

Windows needs 15% free space to defrag, use Defraggler can be run from usb or other drive and needs no free space to defrag:

Also use Use RevoUninstaller to remove any unwanted programs:

It's faster and better than add / remove applet.

When you run it highlight the item then select uninstall in next window select Advanced and click Next, follow prompts when uninstalled it will scan registry and drive for leftover files / folders, tick ONLY the bold items and follow prompts.

  6. I think that, it's infected with virus. If that's the case, well..the best thing  to do is to reformat your computer..so that the virus will be removed..if you're thinking about the files that are saved on that computer, don't worry because reformating doesn't mean  that those  will be deleted..reformatting will not harm yours files BUT viruses do.. a-huh..i'm an expert..haha..just joking..it's just because i've encountered that situation so many times.. ^___^ ..hope that i've helped you..:) and advice..after reformatting your computer..install your computer with an anti-virus program..if ever you don't have one (:

  7. reformat your hardrive and then re-install windows

  8. perhaps formatting your computer? you will lose everything, but at least it will be useable when you re install everything again.

  9. Stop your automatic updates .those useless updates do nothing but taking heaps of space
