What's wrong with my eyes? Contact help.?

I can't seem to wear contacts anymore on my left eye. Everytime I try, it will have a funny feeling. When I take them out, that feeling is amplified. It almost feels like leaving my eye open without blinking for a long time &has something in it. This feeling will persist either a few hours or all day(depending on how long I wore it the previous day). I've stopped wearing them for two weeks now and they're still doing this. I went to a general doctor and he put some stuff on my eye and used a dark light on it, but didn't see any scrapes or cuts.

could it be because my eye isn't getting enough oxygen? I plan on going to a real eye doctor sometime in the summer once I get done with school.

  1. If you've only just started wearing them, then maybe you have naturally dry eyes. Wearing the contacts probably gradually dried your eyes out to a point where they're still dry even after your contacts are out.

If you've had been wearing for a long time, have you tried a new contact? It could be that yours got dirty and you will need to reevaluate your cleaning methods. Not saying you're dirty, but maybe something happended.

Also don't sleep in them. A nap or one accidental night is fine, but generally be diligent with them.

You should go to the optometrist soon.

  2. I am of the opinion that this calls for a visit to your original prescribing doctor. They have all the info from your prior visits to give you a better opinion of how this should be treated!
