What's wrong with my fridge?

Question

I didn't leave the doors open at all, but the freezer and fridge are not producing cold enough air. The fans and lights are on and it's blowing kind of cool air but not cold enough for the fridge even. I don't know what to do... don't have money to hire someone to fix it or to buy a new one! It did this and then went back to normal and now it's that same way again today! Argh!

Pull it out from the wall and dust off the back of it.  My fridge did the same thing and when I looked behind it it was super dusty on the vent thing.

Hopefully that's the problem

If you still have the manual, dig it out and look under the Troubleshooting section. it might have some suggesitons on how to spot and fix the problem without repairing it.

Did you check to make sure the dial is turned on to a cold enough  temp? I know it sounds basic, but I have bumped the k**b before and turned it way down, and way up. Check your settings.

If none of that works, is there someone you know who has a little knowledge with that kind of thing? Maybe a neighbor, or someone at church?

Well, I have a couple suggestions for you.  First thing is that you probably aren't going to get very helpful answers about your refrigerator in the Marriage and Divorce section, so try appliances or something.

Next, try pulling your fridge from the wall and dusting it off.  The vent could be too covered in dust to be functioning properly, causing the air to not blow cold enough.

If you have no money to purchase a new one, try Craigslist.  Go to www.craigslist.org and click on your city/state on the right hand side of the screen.  They have a section for "free" items, and sometimes people list fridges.  Also, they have an "items wanted" section, where you can post that you're looking for a fridge.  Put whatever you're willing to pay for it, even if it's only $50.  You'd be surprised, people will let go of a lot!

Also, you can try freecycle.  Go to www.freecycle.org and register there.  You can post what you want, or read the posts - EVERYTHING on the website is absolutely FREE.

Get a new one...duh or get it fixed, that is an answer...Why are you in the marriage and divorce over a fridge?
