ok, first of all, it's a red legged walking frog. i have two of them. this morning one of them had what looked like a weird pink wart on the side of its mouth. i went shopping with my mom. when we came back the thing was gone, so i guess it was just my frog's tounge. then i was going downstairs and my frog was laying on it's back, and starting to lose it's color, it's tounge was swelling up and getting red, and it's throat looked like it was swelling too. about 20-30 minutes later it flipped over. it just died. what happend? iv had them both for about one year. they eat crickets. is it possible my frog choked on a cricket?? or maybe did it get an infection some how? the other frog was sitting in the corner of the tank the whole time. it seems to be fine. i got my frogs from Petco.

any suggestions are greatly appreciated

  1. Fist off you want to quarantine the other frog for 48 hours alone even if their is no other frog, and clean the tank very good in case its a deadly infection to amphibians.

I think it died of a infection because of what you said.

Or reaction to something because of the swelling.

But i would just keep the living frog quarantined

for a good while and just scrub the tank.

it was infection or reaction to something but idk what.

but good luck to you and the remaining frog hope he didn't ketch anything.

  2. Ur frog was probably retarded... I study amphibians as well
