What's wrong with my inkjet printer?

When I try to print anything, I hear the printer start up, I watch the paper feed through, and then the printer freezes up! I see the meter move up to either 40% or 70% complete, then nothing! It stops there, and nothing prints at all! What's going on here?

  1. Are your cartridges working. Try printing a test page from the printer control panel. Make sure the cartridges are properly seated and not catching on anything. Also make sure nothing is blocking the carriage assemble and that the little plastic ribbon the carriage moves along isn't torn or dirty.

  2. what brand and model?
