I remember every detail from YEARS AGO, my entire life actually!

But recently, I can't remember a thing that happened yesterday (But I still remember the long-term memories)

I'll wake up in my mom's bed or on the couch, and be like, I don't remember getting ready to go to sleep (But with my night retainers on and my acne medication on)

And I go to tutoring one a week, and every week when I go back I don't remember a thing I was taught the week before so I cannot make progress

I always walk into a room and forget why

I'm always losing things

I can remember conversations with my friends from 2-5 years ago but I can't remember the topics of our conversation two days ago

WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME??

  1. Maybe you just need to relax a little. Are you thinking about something that consumes your attention all the time? Anything that has increased the stress in your life dramatically?

  2. it may be short-term memory loss take this test it may help

  3. Lots of people are forgetful. I'm just as forgetful as you are, so don't stress

  4. Probably just hormones.

  5. A lot of people... Uh? What? (Where's my day planner?) OK... A lot of people are forgetful. You can train your mind to remember details if you'd like to. A lot of brilliant people can't remember where their glasses are or how many houses they own.

  6. I don't know what could be wrong with you but if it's this bad, I suggest you go see a doctor about it. They might have suggestions or will know what's wrong.

  7. Nothings wrong. You're like me. I'm 16 and I can remember almost everything from my childhood. I remember who taught me that pressing shift then a letter, makes it a capital, and that was a long time ago, I even remember where I was and what happened in that lesson, because I was in school at the time. But then, for example today, I forgot to tell my mum that my dad had phoned, and this was in the space of like half an hour.

You can just be forgetful sometimes. If you think over things, you will remember it, but you tend to not really think about what happened yesterday. Thinking about it now, I can barely remember it, but then if I really think I can. Another example, like five minutes ago, I opened a new web page to do something different but completely forgot what I was going to do by the time it had loaded, which took like five seconds.

Everyone forgets things. Don't stress on it. Just take some Omega 3 ;).

  8. I wouldn't discount what happened when you were 2 years old, a cause of a neurological dysfunction can take years to manifest from a cause and can be triggered by a few main factors such as stress, trauma, a slight knock even, illness or infection in the present etc.

You could find all sorts of conjecture and suppositions here, which will not really help and only serve to further confuse you.

What you need is to be referred to a neurologist after seeing your doctor who will go through this with you and eliminate anything more obvious which may be causing it.

As you say, this is stressing you out and impeding you academically which only compounds things, so you really need to start the ball rolling sooner rather than later.

Way to go for a serious and sympathetic answer to something potentially very serious, username "You Can't Handle The Truth!!".

Hope you get the same consideration when you need to be taken seriously about something serious you are suffering with, you insensitive oik.

Thumbs down for that one geezer!

  9. Yeah, well sniffing glue does that to you.
