What's wrong with my mouse?

A few days ago I looked in at my mouse and saw that one of his eyes either has a very bad infection or it's gone completely.I can't tell because he won't let us touch him anymore. He also has a bald line down the top of his head.It almost looks like he got into a fight but he's the only one in the cage and no other animals can get to him. He's also been lethargic and he hasn't been eating. He's just kind of laying around the cage and breathing hard.

He hasn't had any diarrhea and he hasn't been sneezing and there's no discharge from anywhere that I can see. This hasn't been happening longer than a week.

  1. go to the vet

  2. hello there...

okay now, don't be so rude to other people here.we're trying to help you a bit by suggesting you to take it to the vet.it depends on the vet whether he'll charge you big or not and the seriousness of the sickness is also placed into consideration.

i know only a few basic things here as you see,i'm not much of an expert.i think the mouse may have some allergy problems with the thing that's inside the cage?have you pleaced anything in the cage that is harmful like some pointed thing or toy?if so,remove that.

an animal who hasn't been eating much definitely got a serious sickness going on.this could lead to a bad dehydration and even death.

seriously, the best way is to take it to the vet.do not underestimate your pets' immune system to sickness.this is bad.

p.s:i suggest asking this on the rodents section down the pets category.the top contributors there ought to help you a bit more.

    i hope i helped!

  3. You should go straight to the vet. They know what's wrong with him. It happened to our class hamster - the vet gave him medicine right away.

  4. I take my pets to the vet.
