What's wrong with my parakeet?

Question

My parakeet keeps scratching and picking at his butt area. And also he keeps pulling out his feathers in the same area. Is there something i should do?? Is it normal for a parakeet to do that?

ok the question is, is that area balding? if its going bald your parakeet should be taken to a vet to check for mite and it should be checked to see that its diet is alright.... if its not going bald its probaly just malting or is itchy good luck and if your very worried call the vet... they can't charge your for a phone call!

No its not normal for your parakeet to do that He probably has something wrong with his inner butt lining thats making him uncomfortable or in pain I would take him to a vet that specializes in smaller animals Because i dont think regular vets check up on animals that small Or it could be he has some sort of psycological issues Either or He needs a check up to make sure its nothing serious I hope he starts feeling better soon

well he may be itchy. before when i had one, he also did that.
