I have landline and broadband with Talk Talk. My broadband is working fine but I can't get my phone to work even from the same socket.

I have tried a different phone and all of my extension sockets but it still doesn't work.

It worked for an hour last night although it was crackly - now it's not working again!

  1. Check ur sockets again or cancel ur plan wif talk talk

  2. customer service is excellent

    ring them

  3. Have you tried turning it all off for 10 minutes. That works for me if I have a problem.

  4. this is a comon fault with talk talk..i think that if you arent recieving the service your paying for, cancel the line go with a more reliable company like bt.

  5. first disconnect all phones in your house

put the little white filter box in the phone socket first?

then put your bband line in and then your phone line

if this still will not work, phone them and ask them to do a line check  if you have a mobile phone

  6. My husband works for BT and he says you've got a fault on your line you have to report it to get it fixed. You've probably got a little break in the line called HR DIS. Your broadband still works as it comes down a different wire.

  7. SY is partly right.

You've got a High Ressistance DISconnection fault on your line... basically speach requires both 'legs' of a wire to work but broadband will work over one leg.

One of your legs (so to speak !) is corroded, this is causing the noise and why you are unable to use the 'phone to talk over.

Unlug all your extensions from the master socket and plug a known good phone into it. If its still noisy, call your Service Provider from a friends house and report a fault.
