my right shoulder has been hurting off and on for about a year now, but now that i started school and i'm writing a lot, it hurts almost all the time.

it starts to hurt when i'm writing or typing, or when my arm is at that level. sometimes even when i'm eating!

it grinds and pops if i move it up and down, and i can easily pop it into/out of place.

the pain sometimes goes halfway up my neck.

and there is no tingling.

i don't know what the deal is.

please help! i'm in pain!

  1. You may have multi-directional instability of the shoulder..basically your shoulder joint has more laxity in it than it should.. Thats why it pops in and out of place grinds etc..the joint surfaces are knocking around..so PT /exercises usually help..surgery to tighten up muscles/tendons is last resort

  2. You might have a pinched nerve... Depending on whether or not you have been in any accidents lately, car related or other wise, your spine may have been moved and is now pinching the nerve. Also if you sleep on your side it may affect it... Try some drugs or something, if no luck, visit the doctor.

  3. Sounds like frozen shoulder.  Here is a book that will show you how to treat it yourself with trigger point massage.  It really works. You will be amazed and relieved.
