Question:

What's wrong with my subs?

I bought Rockford Fosgate 12" P1 subs about 2 months ago but recently they haven't been working that well. They're running on a Sony Explode 800W amp and I checked all the wires, which seem to be in the right place and working, but you can't hear any bass coming from the subs. I can see and feel the subs moving a little when I'm next to them, but when im sitting in my car I don't hear any difference whether they're on or off. Could they be blown and still be able to make the little movement that they make? Or could I have just blown one of the two fuses in the amp?

  1. well you can easily check to see if your subs are blown....just push down on the center of the subs and if you feel and hear a crunch, then you've blown them....but i dont think they're blown with only a 800 watt amp unless your subs are less than 400 watts a piece.
