My glasses broke about 4 months ago and I haven't been able to get another pair because of money problems. In this time my vision has gotten a lot worse, is this normal? And I'm going to be getting glasses and contacts soon and i want to know if this will continue when i get them.

I am 13 by the way..

  1. No, please see your eye specialist as early as possible for necessary examination and correctness of the visual defect etc.,..

  2. At your age especially, it is possible for your eyes to be getting more and more nearsighted.  When you get your new glasses and contacts your vision should be good for a while at least (6 months to a 1 year perhaps).

  3. More important than not having any corrective lenses, you are that age when you grow rapidly. When you grow, your eyes have a tendency to change very rapidly also, so this is completely normal, I see it all the time in kids your age. I do recommend getting your eyes checked every 6 months to a year, check with your Dr. but at my office, we do kids re-checks at no charge up to about 9 months after their original exam.
