What's wrong with my voice?

Okay, so I'm a singer (girl, 13), but there is something wrong with my voice. I had laryngitis 2 months ago, but it went away after a few days. I haven't practiced in over a month, and when I went to practice the other day, i noticed something wrong about my voice. On some notes[that i didn't have previous trouble with], my voice will just cut off and I can't hold some considerably short notes. I also can't hit some of the higher and lower notes that i used be able to hit with ease. What's wrong? How do I fix it? The voice just stopping/cutting off is my main concern.

Thank you.

  1. Since your illness which of course has taken some toll on your vocal chords, you have to slowly ease your voice back to its original state (think of it as rehab). Every day slowly do your scales up and down and don't sing to the point where you know your voice will crack. You don't want to strain it more.

Think of it as running. If you weren't a runner before, you start with a lot of walking and a little bit of running. Every week you increase the running by a little and decrease the walking by a little. By the end, you will be able to run a lot longer than before.

In your case, you sing the scales or notes that are still comfortable to you and every day increase it by one or two notes. Hopefully a or two months later, you will be back to your own voice again.

  2. Your voice isnt breaking. You may have some scarring on you vocal chords from the laryngitis, but it's probably from being sick earlier and not practicing since.

  3. It could be because you were so use to singing and then you just stopped. Happens to me sometimes.  Cause you haven't been practicing and your vocal chords need to get use to the notes. So just practice like you use to and it should be better. But than again it might be your laryngitis and I would reccomend you see a Doctor and surgery could be involved

  4. Maybe its ur laryngitis.. and its still kinda der

Or it could be from not practicing for a wile and ur not used 2 it..

Or maybe ur voice is breaking!!
