What's wrong with the COVER title of Us Weekly?

It's a cover story about Gov. Palin and it reads, "Babies, Lies, and Scandal."

What's wrong with this? This is BASIC grammar, folks.

  1. What is scandalous is their entire cover.  Shame on them!

  2. There shouldn't be a comma after "lies".

But come on - this is US Weekly - not the New Yorker

  3. Scandel is supposed to be plural.

  4. Scandal should be plural.

    further detail:

The reason for the comma after "and" as follows:

To avoid confusion, use commas to separate words and word groups with a series of three or more.

Example: My $10 million estate is to be split among my husband, daughter, son, and nephew. Omitting the comma after son would indicate that the son and nephew would have to split one-third of the estate.

  5. cbbun was the first with the right idea...

    "Babies, Lies and Scandals"

(I'm confused. Maybe you can help me out here. Have people outed the rule where "if you have a list of items, you need a comma and an "and" after the second to last item?)

    Example:

"item, item, item, AND item"  - OR -   "item, item, item AND item"
