NBC sucks at broadcasting the NHL. Versus is actually good and they know what they are talking about (most of the time).

This is my 1,000th answer on Y!A...So I think I deserve a best answer!

I would rather watch it on Versus. That way I don't have to look at Mike Milbury.

Well Law and Order is a decent show, I like the spinoffs law and order criminal intent, and of course law and order special victims unit.  Although I agree hockey does get the shaft too many times.  What the NHL should do and cable companies is provide an nhl channel that everyone can get.  I mean if the nfl can do it why not hockey.

You might want to look at it a different way.

Versus is the one network that picked up the NHL when nobody wanted them.  They usually televise 2 games a week through the season which is way more than any other network.  I know it is nice to have the best sport on earth on network TV, but give Versus kudos for being there for the NHL.  They do deserve a bone so to me only 2 games for a Finals series is a slap in the face for them.  I know Versus isn't the best network to watch the game on, especially because many cable packages do not offer it, but NBC nor any other network is really that much better.  ESPN was good only because they had guys like Gary Thorne and Dave Strader calling games.  Also they had GREAT on-ice audio that made you feel like you were at the game.  In the end Versus is the network getting the shaft.  I would much rather listen to Keith Jones, Bill Patrick, and Brian Engbom than Pierre Maguire and Mike Milbury.

The networks aren't bidding on the rights to air the games because the ratings aren't high enough.  If more people watch the games then they will most likely be picked up again by a legit channel, so watch as many NHL games as possible!

I have cable Wilson, it just so happens that I don't have vs (and can't get cbc down here in Texas) on top of which I am living off my savings while in college so I can be a more productive member of society.
