What's wrong with you Red Sox fans?

Now I am a Yankees fan... but by no means is A-Rod my favorite Yankee. But despite the obscene amount of money he gets paid, nobody deserves to receive a cheer after being drilled by a pitch in the shoulder. I understand that many of you felt that Joba Chamberlain drilled Youkilis on purpose the night prior (which he didn't because that would have been incredibly stupid in a 1-0 game) and this could be payback, but h**l, I have never heard such a loud cheer after someone was potentially hurt. Classless, just like your reaction to the Giants ruining your beloved Patriots' championship run. Wouldn't many of you agree?

  1. Absolutely not because I have never heard such loud boos after players were announced at an All-Star Game.

  2. i 101% agree with you!!!!!!!!!

to brittany : ofcourse rival team in your home turf...what do you expect? do you mean that if the all star game was held in fenway a yankee player wont get booed? isnt it last year's all star game in giants stadium all dodger players got booed? but cheerin on an injured player???? so please quit sayin that statement!!!! get real!!!!

EDIT : Jonathan "Cry me a river" PapelBUM LMFAO!!!! i like that!!!

  3. Show, my man, when you're watching a team get trounced the way the Red Sox did today, you look for ANYTHING that can make your hellish stay at Fenway Park more exciting/memorable. That laugh they had was one of very few today. It's always soothing to think of what's going on AFTER they lose. There was a couple of fights on the Green Monster in the top of the 9th inning. It's literally crazy to be up there wearing a Yankee hat after a loss, especially a 10-3 one (as opposed to a 2-1 one).

  4. Lately, comparing Red Sox and Yankee fans has been like comparing Mayonnaise and Mayo Whip. Lmao. There isn't much of a difference.

Red Sox fans are cheering when A-Rod gets hit by a pitch...Yankee fans are threatening Papelbon's wife at the ASG and booing him.

Look, I'm a Red Sox fan, but I'm not about to say that we have these amazing fans. I'm realisitic. We don't have the best fans, and neither do the Yankees.

  5. Joba aims for Youkilis' head EVERY GAME. He obviously was aiming for Youk last night. He had control the whole night, and the one pitch that slips that far up and inside just happens to be to Youk? ahaha, how stupid are you?

The Yankees acted classless at the All-Star game, and you guys cheered when Manny got drilled a few years back, so shut up. Quit bitching and complaining.  If you were a fan of any other team, I'd listen, but Yankee fans are far more classless than Red Sox fans. You're clearly just one of those Yankee fans who were laughing listening to the treatment of the Sox at the All-Star game.

I'd rather a team cheer when a guy gets hit in the arm than have a team threaten a players PREGNANT WIFE.

  6. Another fabulous question! Amen, my brotha!

  7. I agree.

However, with that being said, BOTH teams fans say/do rude things to the other team every time they meet.

Granted, it seems a little worse with the Boston fans.  It's like they truly believe that their team can do no wrong (as evidenced by the constant "Manny being Manny" excuses, and their forgiveness of Youkilis's temper tantrums...) and they get SUPER upset when the Yankees fans do ANYTHING that they perceive as disrespect to the Red Sox players.

Even worse, Boston fans truly believe that they are somehow better or more classy than the Yankees fans.  It's absurd.

Neither team has angelic fans.  It's just part of the rivalry.

  8. First of all, the statement that Joba hit Youkilis on purpose is clearly idiotic. What moron would go for someone in the head? Certainly not Jesus Chamberlain... he has brains. If you're going to hit someone with a 100 mph ball, you do it in the leg or in the arm. You don't try to kill someone and aim at their head. And I don't care what the h**l the history books say. In a 1-0 game, in the late innings, you don't intentionally drill someone! Joba and the Yankees know that! They realize how completely moronic that is. They would never jeopardize a win like that. It doesn't matter if he's hit Youkilis 100 times (which he hasn't - I've only seen it happen once before, so history schmistory), there is no way that this was intentional.

That said, as a Yankees fan, I think fans on both ends of the rivalry have crossed the line in recent weeks. Both have seemed classless at points. Do I think that the majority of Yankees Universe has thousands of times more class than the majority of Red Sox Nation? Yes. But can both groups of fans take the blame for recent rude behavior (including today's A-rod debacle)? Absolutely.

The beauty of the rivalry is so much more beautiful when the fans get into it, but the line has to be drawn somewhere. The wellbeing of players and players' families should not be brought into the equation. And the bottom line is, that these people are all human beings, and deserve to be treated with respect. Every single fan and player and tiny little person in both organizations, from Derek Jeter to JD Drew, to the Red Sox batboy, to the person that scrubs the toilets at Yankee Stadium. None of those people deserve to be kicked when down or heckled for personal issues just because of this rivalry. And this is what happens. People die over it. Children are spit on. It's ridiculous, and a lot of people really have to grow up.

  9. A lot of people from both sets of fans have been classless, obnoxious idiots. They make classy fans look bad. I find it sad that anyone who cheer when someone is hit, or threaten a pregnant wife.

  10. Whether or not Joba threw it at him on purpose, it doesnt really matter because thats not what this question is asking.  Your right, red sox fans are pretty obnoxious to have cheered for anyone getting hit by a pitch.  Im not really that surprised, but still kinda unnecessary.

  11. Whats wrong with you Mr. Yankee fan?
