  2. All of mine are foreign and/or old - so unless you're into those types of films, you probably won't like these (but I'll post them anyways.)

    1. Vertigo (Hitchcock, 1958)

    3. The 400 Blows (Truffaut, 1959)

  3. Billy Elliot

    The English Patient

  8. Here are 6 Great films (one short silent) from before I was born. I watch these over and over, because they're sooooooo good:

COPS (1922), Buster Keaton - funniest film ever.

--- Poor Buster tries to empress his girl with a business success and only succeeds in being chased by the entire Los Angeles Police Force.

You can see the whole thing online:

    THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1934)

--- Dr. Frankenstein created a monster in the 1st Frankenstein movie and now the monster demands a bride, someone like him to love. Sometimes sad, somethings funny, and one of the most beautifully filmed movies in Black & White.

THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD (1937) - Filmed in Technicolor!

--- Some of the great sword fight in all film. Excellent villains. And a great actor as Robin Hood (Errol Flynn).

THE LADY EVE (1941) - a funny, fast-paced battle of the sexes.

---On a cruse ship, a clever (and s**y) con-artist takes advantage of an innocent, clueless, young millionaire. And as he falls for her (literally! - he's the clumsiest man in the world) she unfortunately falls in love with him. When she is exposed as a crook he runs away and she must catch him again disguised as her "identical twin". Hilarious!

    STRANGERS ON A TRAIN (1951)

--- A psychological thriller by the great director, Alfred Hitchcock. A famous tennis player (Guy) meets a strange man (Bruno) on a train. Bruno tells Guy his "amusing" idea about how to commit the perfect murder: two people who hardly know one another at all "exchange" murders. Guy thinks Bruno is just kidding - until Bruno kills someone Guy doesn't like. Very exciting and perfectly told story.

SOME LIKE IT HOT (1959) - Funny, funny, funny.

--- Two guys are running from gangsters and join an all girl band, disguised as women. Trouble starts when everyone starts falling in love. One with Marilyn Monroe (the band's singer) and the other guy starts flirting with an old millionaire!
