  1. My favorite aircraft is the B-17G model with the tail gunner added. When I lived in Texas I went to every air show that had the B-17 on static display. It was easy to fly and it was easy to work on. Being an actual aircraft flight engineer and aircraft mechanic I feel I have the right to express those feelings. Also it was one of the last aircraft that allowed nose art such as "Memphis Belle" and "Enola g*y."

  2. The T-38 Talon. Because it was so much fun to fly, especially in formation/maneuvers.

    ADDED:

    Sorry - a 737 is a great aircraft - but not as much fun as a T-38!

  3. that depends on what i want the plane to do. my all time favorite is the P51D mustang. my second favorite is also a warbird, it is the F86 sabre, preferably with the avon engine conversion. for a civilian plane i think the cessna 310 is a neat little plane. for commercial aircraft it is a toss up between the boeing 737 and the boeing 747.

  4. SR71 Blackbird. Its wicked fast ( 1905.80993 knots (2,193.1669 mph, 3,529.56 km/h), and flys too high (85,068.997 feet (25,929 m)- (sustained flight) -  for most anti-aircraft munitions to shoot it down.

I believe its out of service though, but wouldn't be at all surprised if they still use it on occasion.

  5. 1.737-800

    2.737-700

    3.787

    4.777

    5.747

    6.767

    7.757

  6. Beech Bonanza.

    The ultimate light single.

In production since 1947 and still going strong!

  7. The new Airbus 380 is awesome. It's a double-decker. Wait 'til you fly in one!

  8. the 737 is also AN OLDER plane, therefore it will come time for it's demise as soon as Boeing rolls out something comparable.

While the 737 is used A LOT, it is a rather BORING plane..... It's kind of like the Honda Civic... it's everywhere.... boring.....

If I had to pick a fav out of the commercial side..... the L1011.... which of course is now retired..... but I got to fly in a couple when I was younger and they are IMMENSE!.... the first class was just AWESOME..... HUGE amounts of space to stretch! And a BIG screen to watch movies... I wish it still flew..... but apparently the 787 should match it's AWESOMENESS.....

If I had to pick a military plane, I'm torn between the Tomcat (F-14) from Top Gun (OH YA! too bad it's retired now) or the Harrier which is capable of vertical take offs and landings!!! AWESOME!!!

and watch out, the airbus a320 is coming up QUICK behind the 737! Especially now that older variants are discontinued!

  9. Vickers VC-10...

One of the fastest and most comfortable passenger planes, and capable to take off and land from a runway half as long as other similar sized planes...

Sadly it is not in use any more (in civil service)...

  10. the one that just landed. why? because it just landed

  11. E-A6 Prowler

  12. Spitfire

F-111 (used to be a crew chief on one)

    P-61

    A-20

    Mosquito

    Ju-88

  13. I DONT know anything about plains but i can tell you that JETSTAR $UCKS.

  14. To fly in:  Boeing 777...I fly to Europe pretty often and the triple seven has the smoothest take-off, flight and landing I have ever experienced.  Couple of years ago we had to do about 4 loops above the Frankfurt airport because of heavy fog delays, and that thing felt like a feather up there.  I actually select my travel schedule on the basis that the airline will use the 777 for my flight.

As a war plane, I give props to the P51 Mustang.  It's just a beautiful airplane.  Sure it doesn't have all the high tech features like the the new jets - but seeing that plane fly almost brings tears to my eyes.  Pure grace with more than enough bite to win a dogfight.
