The bites on my Hula Popper, Chug Bug, and Zara Spook seem to have really tapered off. My highest producing topwaters have been my Hocus Locust and BPS Locust. Anyone else having good results with "locust" lures on top?

  1. You serious? You must have traded your mojo to me, because my Hula Popper is killing! I use the floating/diving plugs with good turnouts. I also have one of the old fashioned poppers (red and white cone with a treble hook) and it works. I have never heard of a Hocus Locust, which is not good, since I have been fishing for 1/4 of my as yet short life.

  2. Buzzer Jr.

  3. I have caught everywhere I throw this and it's a dinosaur. It's called a Lucky 13, I took it off a thule in the delta fishing a tournament there and I have caught, yellow fin, rooster fish, barracuda, bass (large-mouth and calico's) and even a very nice shark I was able to chase down and get it back from. My guess is it was hanging there in the delta for a couple years and just went un noticed I changed the hooks and the tie on and though I know it should be retired I find and use it whenever the surface erupts.

  4. My best producer is a bone Super Spook Jr. Caught several limits of speckled trout and a few redfish using this lure. I mostly turn to this lure fishing the surf.

  5. strike king buzz bait

  6. I've been catching some fish on a Pop-R...but since my club has been fishing Night Tournaments this summer (Jun to Aug), I have been fishing bottom baits...worms and the like...but fall is coming and the top water should turn on again...
