What's your definition of a 'Real American'?

It is a member of an American Indian Tribe.  The rest of us are immigrants.

Someone born in America, an American citizen. That is all it means. A "fake American" would be someone pretending to be an American.

EDIT: And of course America is not just the United States. There are many countries in America and everyone who is a citizen of any of the countries is an American. Canada, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica and so on all are in America.

I am a real United States citizen.

And Show your colors, all races, genders, religions, Height, and size of people are welcome, we all have a say in this party

Someone who takes their Constitutional rights seriously and defends them against tyranny by taking part in their right as US Citizens to vote, pick up a phone and call their Representatives and let their voices be heard.  

You can wear a pin, wave a flag, and walk in parades, but if you don't take part in governing this Nation like "We the People" are supposed to do, it means nothing.

Someone who puts their country before their political party.

Someone who doesn't hate half their country (political bigotry).

Someone who loves diversity, including having those who hate diversity.

Someone who love equality, even for white men.

Someone who loves free speech, even for republican talk radio.

Someone who loves free expression, even for Christian Fundamentalists.

Someone who wants to find a way to make the Constitution work as it is rather than change it, IF they can, and uses the Constitutional processes to change it if they can't.

Someone who doesn't want the balance of power between our government branches to be changed/unbalanced just because they don't like the politics of the present administration.

Someone who can disagree, dissent, and even protest without calling our representatives names, spreading false rumors, using libel and slander, or breaking the law.

Someone who doesn't think socialism is the answer (that is about as far from the American Dream as one can get).

Someone who doesn't want a state religion (morals from on high) to run our government.

Someone who doesn't believe that revealing all our secrets to those who competing or even those who hate us would "promote peace".

I could go on forever.

I love answering the questions of people who seem to have no political bigotry (someone notices...).

Anyone who is willing to go into a land where other people are abiding, and steal that land out from under them and call it divine right.

Anyone who will take a boat load of stolen people and call them animals and make them slaves while sighting divine right.

Anyone who will look the globe over, find oil, gold or glory, inhabit that land and claim divine right.

A patriot has a different meaning than it used to and after reading National Geographic from 1949, I see how the Native Peoples have been displaced. (More than I thought) Real American doesn't sound so good anymore

Anyone who still believes that America's laws are still based off of Democracy. We see less and less of it every day now.

I'm going to tell you right now, a "real American" is NOT somebody like Bill'O Reilly.

a person who feels that America is still the best in the world, warts and all.

a person who doesn't feel ashamed to show their patriotism for fear that it might offend other nations.

a person who, despite personal failing sometimes, still thinks that it best to live a moral life with ethics.

a person who thinks that capitalism is still the best way to achieve a good government with the free market, supply and demand dictating prices and goods is the best way to achieve entrepreneurship.

a person who accepts personal responsibilities for their life styles and life choices and is willing to accept the consequences for their choices

a person who still believes in family values and tries to instill them in their children.

ps..go back in history and you will find that american indians are immigrants too.
