What's your experience with foreign exchange students?

I'm a 16-year-old only child and next year, my junior year of high school, we're probably going to take in a foreign exchange student (a girl my age). I'm really excited but I know some things will be hard, i.e. learning to share, having to introduce her to my friends, having a new family member, etc. What are your experiences with foreign exchange students?

If the destination you are coming is probably India, where I live I am sure that u'll have to face a lot of trouble in the society adjusting to the conditions here except a few places. Incase if ur coming to India then its better not to be here.....

I was a foreign exchange student and I have lived with other foreign students. The most important thing is try to be patient with her. It helps to try to learn some of her language if you can. Just try to be a friend and do some research about her culture before she comes. That helps. The experience can be a great one if you want it to be. You may have a new friend for life. Good luck.
