  1. Well, as a kid growing up in Kaneohe, Waimanalo is where we would go most of the time.  Not that crowded, but kind of dirty now.  Lanikai is the nicest, but way too busy these days.

  2. Napili Bay (maui) was the most fun I have every had.  We stayed for a week in a condo there, and snorkeled every day, not too crowded, right out our front door.

  3. I don't know the Hawaiian name for it, but I love the black sand beach!

  4. Ka'anapali Beach on the island of Maui is absolutely gorgeous!!!!

  5. Personally I like Lanikai or Kailua but there are WAY too many people on these beaches nowadays so it's not so nice anymore.

    Hope that helps you......

  6. the waimea beach! it's really clear, and those rocks that are 4 meters are so fun to jump off of.

  7. I have been to Hawaii 3 times in the last 8 years and every time I discover a new beach.  I don't like being around hundreds of other people, so I typically drive and find something remote.

On Oahu, if you head out H1 to the west end of the island, you can find several remote ares.  The west side of Kauai is also beautiful and very desolate.  On the big island, there is a great little beach near the south west corner of the island close to the Captain Cook monument.  It is a little difficult to get to as the road does not pass to close.  I don't remember how I found it, but we turned down a small road off the Hawaii.

Finding a remote beach on Maui is tough but there are some on the far north end of the west portion of the island, north of Ka'anapali.  Go just past the Ritz Carlton and you can find them.

The remote beaches are much more romantic and you can do pretty much whatever you want all day and night.

  8. Depends on what I want to do...most of the time I like being very close to my room, where I or my Keikis (kids) can go back and forth at will, I also like to be able to go to my room, sit on my Lanai and watch them (kids) at play on Waikiki Beach, another thing I LOVE about Waikiki Beach is being able to sit at DUKES with a Mai Tai or Blue Hawai'i,listen to the Surf and watch the Sunset. There are so many to love ...On Maui I would have to say Ka'anapali at Black Rock or Napili.

  9. Cockroach Cove (aka From Here to Eternity Beach for you old timers).  It's a little cove just west of the Blow Hole on eastern Oahu.  You have to scramble down some rocks to get there, but it is a nice little beach & you can usually see honu there.

  10. Lani Kai, Kailua Oahu!!! beautiful!!!

  11. Nalo and Hamakua Bay on the Big Island (black sand beach)
