  1. Grapes of Wrath

  2. Sometimes a Great Notion

  3. The Grapes of Wrath and a TV western he did, Stranger On the Run.

  4. "Mr. Roberts".  This was one of his best and William Powell, Jack Lemmon and James Cagney were excellent choices to co-star with him.

  5. some one will have to help me out..the one where he is accused and on trial for murder that he didn't do..it's an old one..but it keeps me on the edge of my seat and he is so calm it sends me up the wall..it's great.

  6. The Grapes of Wrath

  7. I think the title is "There was a Crooked Man" - a western - about a sheriff and hidden treasure!   Great movie.

    Good question.  CJ

  8. 12 Angry Men.

  9. The one where was accused of murder and it was his double, and they found out in time had me up to high doh.

  10. I find Henry Fondas' earliest movies to be best. His attitude in the roles as he matured, seem to have hardened  him somewhat, and reflected his true personality.

The Grapes of Wrath, made in 1940 about the Depression and the

great migration west in search of jobs and hope and harmony, is shown

in this movie about the complexities of living during that stress filled

period in our nations' history. The backs of the farmers were strong,

and their pride, willful. They knew when they were beaten, and one by one, chose to leave the dustbowls of their states and counties, to

go west, to find their lives renewed again. This movie reflects

that strength, and that hope that perservered. I feel it was Fonda's best. I loved the innocence on his face, and the hope in his eyes. The determination that was felt by all who lived that life so many years ago is truly felt in The Grapes of Wrath.

The impact that the depression had on that generation carried through

to the next. It was a time that was engraved on the hearts of every

American living at that time and after. It's a time, that when reflected

upon, brings a look of sorrow to the faces of the generation that

followed. Once, they were children who saw the faces and hardship that their parents had endured now cried for their parents

    long gone, remembering.

  11. "Yours Mine and Ours" with Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda

  12. I liked the one he did with his daughter, oh "On Golden Pond", or something like that.

  13. The Grapes Of Wrath. It was also one of my favorite novels.

  14. I loved seeing his humorous side in..

The Cheyenne Social Club.. with Jimmy Stewart

  15. Twelve Angry Men, when he and other stars are a jury.

  16. Big Hand For The Little Lady

    Lady Eve

  17. on golden pond..

  18. On Golden Pond

  19. In the end I came to hold Hanoi Jane against Henry... no matter how hard I struggled not to. That kind of ruined Henry for me.

  20. A western with John Wayne. Henry played a mule headed rules and regulations cavalry officer who in the end led his men into a hopeless massacre. It could have been something like 'She wore a Yellow Ribbon."

  21. 12 Angry Men

  22. Golden Pond. But his movies were all good.  He was one of the greats.

  23. Henry Fonda didn't ever star in a bad movie, at least not the ones I have seen.

I really do love "On Golden Pond" and I have watched it several times.

His co-star, Katharine Hepburn is on my favorite actress list.

This movie brought his daughter to see her father in a different light and softened the rift she had with him. (My opinion)

The only good thing about my failing memory is, I can watch my favorite movies and read my favorite books over and over again and enjoy them all over again.

    Good question.
