  1. Jamaican Jerk Chicken, or Jamaican potatoes with syrup.

Both are good and often good together.

  2. Real, slow cooked, jerk pork.  Mmmmm.  It's pork rubbed with a combination of herbs, spices and hot pepper, then slowly smoked over green pimento wood (wood from the allspice tree)

I also love their pepper pot soup.  It's not spicy (even though the name sounds like it is).  It's made with a callaloo (a local green), very delicate flavor.  Delicious.

I'm a big fan of Jamaica rice and peas (really small red beans and rice, lightly spiced, steamed with coconut milk) and Jamaican patties as well (a pastry "hand pie"/turnover filled with spicy beef or callaloo)

  3. curry goat

  4. Ox Tails

    Curry Chicken

    Jerk Chicken

    Beef Patties

    Fish Soup

Curry Goat (taste like chicken with a pot roast texture)

  5. Jerk Chicken and Roti.

  6. Curried goat

    Jerk chicken

    Wonderful Blue Mountain Coffee

  7. 1.  Brown stew chicken (slow cooked)

    2.  Rice & peas

    3.  Fried dumplings (when they're slightly sweet)

    4.  Escovietched fish

    5.  Chicken patties, beef patties, and veggie patties.

    YUMMMM!

  8. Jerk chicken.

Cassava chips. Yes it's cooked just like deep friend potato chips (i.e. peeling, cutting, deep frying etc) but after you cut them you have to boil them in water first before deep frying them. After boiling, drain water, wipe of any excess liquid if neccesarry and then deep fry them.

Then after deep frying and draining the oil, it's ready to eat. You can choose if you want to add salt, seasoning etc.

Another dish is rice & peas. The recipe is different then what you probably picture it to be. IT IS NOT rice with green peas it is rice with any available legume, such as red kidney beans, pigeon peas (known as gungo peas), or cowpeas.

  9. Jerked chicken with rice and peas and coleslaw! Delicious!

  10. Hmmm jeez, I am not familiar with their cuisine aside from jerk chicken (which is absolutely awesome) and meat pies (which are also absoluetly awesome)

I have always awnted to go to Jamaica since i was young, funny i traveled across the world several times never been there yet!

Will edit my post after i visit :)
