The car that comes at you with no headlights in the middle of the night. They Crash into you in the middle of the night and then they pull out a gun and kill you.

I have had  career as a Newspaper Circulation Manager supervising thousands of middle of the night newspaper drivers

and this never happened.

I have also had a career a a funeral director and this never happened.

However, If I see a car in the middle of the night with no headlights. I get out of the way. I saw this once.

The stolen kidney urban legend

This guy went out last Saturday night to a party and had a couple of beers. Some girl seemed to like him and invited him to another party. He quickly agreed. She took him to a party in some apartment and they continued to drink, and even got involved with some other drugs (unknown which). The next thing he knew, he woke up completely naked in a bathtub filled with ice. He was still feeling the effects of the drugs but looked around to see he was alone. He looked down at his chest, which had "CALL 911 OR YOU WILL DIE" written on it in lipstick. He saw a phone was on a stand next to the tub, so he picked it up and dialed. He explained to the EMS operator what the situation was and that he didn't know where he was, what he took, or why he was really calling. She advised him to get out of the tub and look himself over in the mirror. He did, only to find two nine-inch slits on his lower back. She told him to get back in the tub immediately, and they sent a rescue team over. They found his kidneys were stolen. They are worth $10,000 each on the black market

i like the one, where a male driver picks up a female hitch hiker, he lends his jacket to her, for her to wear cause its cold and i think they are on a motorbike, he drops her off home, and tells her he,ll return to pick up his jacket.....when he returns the next day..he knocks on her door, only to have her mum answer it, when he asked for her, he was told she had been dead for some time, he asked where she was buried, then he went to the cemetery.. only to find his jacket sitting on top of her tomb stone, and he picked her up hitch hiking just outside the cemetery........

I like the one about how using a Ouija board can bring evil spirits into your home.  Every time I hear that one I just laugh and laugh.

I like the hook man legend.Where they find the hook in the car door when they drive away.It's told all over the country.Little differences region to region but always ends the same.It's my favorite because it demonstrates how these stories are spread.Anyone believing it thinks it;s unique.Bloody Mary is a lot of fun too.How many teens scare the heck out of each other with that one?Good spooky times.

I don't have a single particular favorite because there are quite a few really good ones that can scare you or get you thinking real good:

Someone's already mentioned the Hitchhiker woman who's apparently a ghost (I love the ghost ones), another mentioned the kidney story which is quite freaky, and let's not forget the good ol' story about the Hook, right? Among some of these, there are some other really good ones, I can't decide!

* There's a story of the baby sister (on drugs) who mistakes the baby for a turkey (and puts the baby in the oven).

* There's a story of the guy who goes some place foreign, comes back home with a headache/earache - only to discover some insect inside his head (eating his brain/causing death).

* There's the story of the dress that causes people to die because the last person wearing it died in it.

* The story of the coat exported into the US that has poisonous baby snakes in it, causing death to the person wearing it once being bitten.

* The story of the real-life mummy being put into fun-park because it was mistaken for a fake one.

* And ... the story of the dead guy found under the mattress in some hotel (people find an odd smell in their room, and eventually discover they've been sleeping on top of the mattress with a dead guy jammed under it)!

I guess we enjoy the most absurd, fascinating and scary ones because although sometimes they seem so fake... they make you wonder otherwise by mixing what IS real, what SEEMS real, with what ISN'T real.
