It started as an anti-Yankee thing.  Sorry, again.

Actually I was a Yankee fan for a couple of years way back when.  In 1964 they went to the World Series and lost.  They fired their manager, Yogi Berra, and hired the manager from the victors to replace him.  (Johnny Keane)  I had always heard of the "Class of the Yankees" but knew that this was a classless thing to do.  

Happened that my school went on a field trip to the stadium and the Red Sox were the foes.  Been there since.
