  1. 16And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

17Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.

    Ruth 1 v 16-17 complete loyalty

  2. There are too many to pick a favorite, but there is one I value a great deal: "Be still and know that I am God"–Psalm 46:10.

Like most articulate people, I talk too much, even when praying, so "Shuddup, willya!" is useful advice.  The quotation is also the basis of a wonderful hymn with music by Sibelius: "Be Still My Soul."

  3. Psalm 23. It really comforts me!!!

  4. Romans 12:12  "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." NIV

Hope means the anticipation of something good.  The word is telling us to be happy that there are good things coming.  Affliction means time of trouble.  The word is telling us to be patient in those time of trouble.  And faithful in prayer means to do this always.  How wonderful is that scripture.  Pray always even during those times of trouble because there is still good thing yet to come!

  5. Joshua 1:9 Be strong and of good courage. Do not be afraid or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
