One of my favorites is by Andy Warhol

What's great about this country is that America started the tradition where the richest consumers buy essentially the same things as the poorest. You can be watching TV and see Coca Cola, and you know that the President drinks Coca Cola, Liz Taylor drinks Coca Cola, and just think, you can drink Coca Cola, too. A coke is a coke and no amount of money can get you a better coke than the one the bum on the corner is drinking. All the cokes are the same and all the cokes are good. Liz Taylor knows it, the President knows it, the bum knows it, and you know it.

  1. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

I love that quote and use it often.

  2. If at first you don't suceed, then skydiving isn't for you.

  3. Eleanor Roosevelt - "No one can make you feel inadequate or inferior without your permission".

  4. "I've got to stop making Heather Mills jokes.  It's a bit like flogging a dead horse.  Still, that's better than milking a live Beatle."

    Graham Norton

  5. "your stuff is stuff. everybody else's stuff is junk"- George Carlin

  6. Right now...

"I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think. Let him come and go freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself, instead of sitting indoors at a little round table while a sweet-voiced teacher suggests that he build a stone wall with his wooden blocks, or make a rainbow out of strips of colored paper, or plant straw trees in flower pots. Such teaching fills the mind with artificial associations that must be gotten rid of before the child can develop independent ideas out of actual experiences." - Anne Sullivan

  7. "You can't cheat an honest man."  W.C. Fields

It's a comment on the fact that all confidence schemes depend on the "victim" actually believing that THEY are the ones who are doing the conning of the other.  It's still true. The internet scams promising people millions of dollars just for posing as the heir of someone they never heard of are a classic example of that fact.

  8. Its not famous but its one of my favorites: "The tears of a warrior are those of a true warrior." If anyone is curious as to the one who said this just ask and I'll say, I dunno why its one of my favorites it was just one of the rare times this guy said something kind of cool.

  9. The golfer Gary Player: "The harder I practice the luckier I get"

    Peace.
