  1. Well, I live on my boat in Antigua... so I guess that is my favorite travel destination at the moment.  If I ever decide to get back in U.S. territory, I'll probably sail back to Puerto Rico... I spent a while at Fajardo and liked it and I also liked Salines so that would be a good place for the boat.

  2. Puerto Rico, a Commonwealth but not a state of US, has captured my heart permanently.  I've been there often and have never  left the island thinking I have had enough.

The island is interesting for it's continuous beach and waters and themountains in mid-island.  Old San Juan, a great place to go shopping and touring, is reminiscent of Europe with cobblestone streets and an old military fort, El Morro.

Ponce, a large town south on the Caribbean Sea, reminds me of New Orleans with second story porches contained by iron railing, hanging above the streets; an amazing museum and much history to take in.   There are many museums in PR worth visiting.  The small country is not lacking for cultural destinations and events.  There is always a holiday to observe and celebrate!  The Rain Forest - El Yungue is an environmental preserve,  with waterfalls and thick jungle, which is there for an adventuresome hike .

I love both the Atlantic side and the Caribbean coast for different reasons. Boqueron, in the SW corner, is where the sun always shine.  The water is crystal blue, clear and mild.  The San Juan area has beaches with wild Atlantic waves and tingling cold water.  The Island is always throbbing with music.  San Juan has excellent restaurants and varied cusine and many clubs with music where you can dance forever.  I also enjoy playing the slots.  In Condado you can take your pick of Casinos within walking distance .

What I love most however, are the friendly people.  Each one prettier than the next.  Their skin color and appearance vary, yet all so lovely to look at.  I find them  to be happy and contented people, ready to give you a welcoming smile and help if you need it.

Someday I would like to retire there.  That is my dream!
