The Spinaker. In Sausalito, 5 maybe less minutes north of the Golden Gate. The restaurant sits on the water, not the shore, the water and has breath taking views of the city. And great food! Make sure to get a Cesar salad, they make it right in front of you (next to your table on a cart of course).

The French Laundry in Yountville is the best and is one of the top 5 restaurants in the world. I have eaten there myself 4 times and never had a better meal ever.

san fran is known for good food.  i have some favorites:  The House of Prime Rib,  and Joe's Cable Car restaurant but there are plenty more in every price range all over the east bay.  Get a Chronicle and go explore.
