What's your favorite treat to give to your horse?

It can be any treat! I love to give carrots to my lesson horse Zippin!

My horses Link, Kiron, and Diu all love turnips.

Link enjoys small lumps of sugar a lot. It's her favorite snack.

Kiron really love beets, especially ones dipped in molasses.

Diu (a young colt) has inherited his father's love for beets. Being younger, he likes it when I puree a beet in a blender and add two tablespoons of molases. I take it out in a little bucket. I will dip my fingers in and then let Diu suck the beets off.

I like to give carrots to my horses because I think the crunching sound is cute.. but I also like to give them apples because I love the sound they make and I think its so funny when they get all the juice everywhere. haha.

My mare loves Sweet Tarts, Mentos (the apple kind) and Jolly Ranchers. If i'm in a boring mood i'll make her some bran mash with hot water and some molasses.

There's some great cook books you should try. They have hundreds of different recipes for horse treats, meals, and snacks that are healthy for the horses aswell. I always make my mare some Oatmeal, molasses, alfalfa muffins from time to time.

On holidays I give her holiday treats. Such as Christmas she gets candy canes, Easter she gets some white chocolate (lactose free-organic) covered apple slices, Halloween she'll get a snack bowl of mixed orange candy with apple sauce and carrot chunks, and Birthdays she gets her birthday cake from the horse cook book.

Spoiling your horse can be a great reward and keeps them always looking forward to seeing you everyday. Of course only spoil them if they deserve it :P

this may sound weird but colbolt [my horse] loves jellybeans and appels iknow jellybeans arn't helthy but if he smell them or see's them and i dont give them to him and i ride him he will try to buck me off!!!

I don't have a favorite. If I'm working at the barn, I like to bring an apple with my lunch and share it with Star and Rox. I also like sugar cubes, mints and carrots.

My new horse has been so mistreated by his original owners he doesnt eat any of the following treat

-apples

-carrots

-sugar cubes

-lettuce

anything of that matter

The only thing he eats is bread as a treat. Becuase he doesnt eat anything else i usually put malasis or honey on the bread for him :)
