This is a question/poll combo, so please post even if somebody else posted your same bluff.

Personally, I love to bluff when I have the stone cold nuts. Last night, for example, I had JJ and hit trips on the flop. The turn paired the board's 9's, so that gave me the nut FH. I made a small bet on the flop, less than 1/2 the pot, and check-called on the turn. on the river, he bet big and i re-raised until he put me all in. :)

My favorite bluff without a made hand is the 20+ outer, where any pair, an open-ended straight draw, or the nut flush draw will make my hand. However, afaik, I've never hit one yet. :)

  1. First off, you did not have the nuts. The nuts with a pair on the board is quads. Second, a bluff is defined as a bet meant to get your opponent to fold when you believe he has the better hand. Any bet with the best hand is NOT a bluff.

Lastly, a 20 outer is NOT a bluff. A 20 outer is a favorite after the flop. A bet with the favorite hand is not a bluff.

  2. My favorite bluffs are the ones I don't make.  More often than not, I get busted on bad bluffs.

Typically, the only bluffs I make are post flop pre river continuation bets from the button when betting is checked to me.  Otherwise, bluffs are about reading the table and the given hands as well as understanding how you may have tipped your hand.  I

  3. its when i take my time to call a low to mid bet on the flop......  and as fast as you can bet all in on the turn ......  i win at least 90% of the time.

  4. with absolutely nothing i like to pretend i am really thinking about what to do.   maybe for three or four minutes.   make the other guy and the whole table wait.
