What's your favourite Chinese food?

I'm going out for a Chinese meal tonight and I'd like to try something different. I always order Chow Mein!

  1. Chicken Kung Pao (Spicy) or Orange chicken are my favorites.


  2. sweet and sour pork! i'm korean-chinese and it's my favourite chinese dish! (:  

  3. Crab Rangoons, and Lo Mein!

  4. There's this particular Lobster dish that I absolutely adore at some of the higher-class Chinese restaurant. I also really like Peking Duck.

  7. Sesame chicken and sushi. and if you dont like sushi thats fine, but get a side of Hot and Sour soup, its heaven on  earth.

  11. Dumplings, Sizzling Mongolian Lamb With Chinese bread ( Southern Mongolia is still a part of China), Spring Rolls, Glutinous Rice Chicken.

  13. Anything Szechuan or Hunan. Dim sum from Guangdong cuisine. Doilies and Peking Duck from Beijing cuisine. Shanghai style noodles.

    And, sushi, as served in the west is hardly Japanese, but definitely is not Chinese

  14. Sesame Chicken, Mongolian Beef over White Rice, Dried fried stringbeans(or what ever kind they serve).

  21. Beijing Roasted Duck - You can make 3 dishes from one duck.

    1) Bone: Duck Soup with salted vegie

    2) Breast meat with the roasted skin wrapped with vegie + the BBQ sauce

    3) Others parts of the duck can be eat with the special BBQ sauce with rice.

  23. General Tso's Chicken is hands down my favorite. Here's a delicious and AWESOME recipe.

    INGREDIENTS

    1/2 cup cornstarch

    1/4 cup water

    1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic

    1 1/2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger root

    3/4 cup white sugar

    1/4 cup soy sauce

    1/4 cup white wine vinegar

    1/2 cup hot chicken broth

    3 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into bite size pieces

    1/2 cup soy sauce

    1 teaspoon ground white pepper

    1 egg

    1 cup cornstarch

    1 cup vegetable oil

    2 cups chopped green onions

    1C chopped broccoli

    16 chile peppers, sun-dried

    DIRECTIONS

       1. To Make Sauce: In a large bowl combine 1/2 cup cornstarch and 1/4 cup water. Mix together. Add garlic, ginger, sugar, 1/4 cup soy sauce and white wine vinegar. Then add chicken broth  and stir all together until sugar dissolves. Refrigerate until needed.

       2. To Prepare Chicken: In a separate bowl, combine chicken, 1/2 cup soy sauce and white pepper. Stir in egg. Add 1 cup cornstarch and stir until chicken is evenly coated. Add oil to help separate chicken pieces. Divide chicken into small quantities and deep fry at 350 degrees F until crispy. Drain on paper towels.

       3. To Make Mixture: Place a small amount of oil in wok and heat until wok is hot. Add scallions and dried chile peppers and stir-fry briefly. Remove sauce from refrigerator and stir. Add sauce to wok. Then add fried chicken, broccoli and cook until sauce thickens (add cornstarch or water as needed until sauce is as thick as you like it).
