  1. Does Rags to Riches count? She is out with an injury but expected to return to racing next year. I loved her gritty determination in the stretch duel with Curlin in the Belmont. Since Curlin won the Breeders Cup Classic and will probably be Horse of the Year, that win is all the more impressive!

  2. well my answer would have been Political Force, but he retired after his last race last month.  I love Rags to Riches, but she's injured so technically not currently running.  Of the classic contenders, I like Street Sense the most... but he's retiring after tomorrow.  I like Grasshopper, but he's resting for the rest of the year.  For 2 year olds, I like Slew's Tiznow [I see that he scratched from the juvie tomorrow for fever :( ] and J Be K...  i like Wicked Style, but I think that's just because I made a bundle off of his win last month... i don't know how he'll transfer over to the dirt and if he'll be able to keep the lead as a frontrunner against so many great closers.  I saw a couple of horses run at Monmouth this week who impressed me...  Slews Enough and Hunting.  Hunting made a good run today over the slop but the real reason that I took notice was that the jockey was wearing the Janneys' silks... same as Ruffian.

If you're making me choose a single favorite, i'll go with Street Sense... until he retires tomorrow ;o)

edit: somehow I completely forgot about English Channel... I guess as a true American, I overlooked the turf ;o)  I love him too... he's such a gutsy horse.  I'm proud that he won the turf today and was much the best over Dylan Thomas!  Too bad he retired too.

  3. Absolutely, positively LOVE Bear Now. She's running tomorrow in the Distaff. Check out her pedigree: http://www.pedigreequery.com/bear+now

Will have an exacta box Bear Now+ Teammate tomorrow. These two will love the "off track", and if it comes in the pay out will be huge! Bear Now is 15-1, Teammate is 30-1 as of now.

  4. I'll go with CR Disco.  He's a racing quarter horse, ran 2 weeks ago at Hawthorne and won at 350yrds and will be running again at Hawthorne Sunday(10-27-07).  I see this stallion every day, a charming animal, a pleasure to handle and a pleasure to ride.  Go baby go!

  5. Does Street Sense count? I assume that with the Darley deal, as of yesterday when he crossed the finish line, he's retired. I adore him. Looove him. Fell in love with him last year at the Breeders Cup when he won the Juvy.

Tiago comes in a close second.
