Mine would be Final Fantasy Tactics for bringing in a new kind of gameplay system, interesting characters and gameplay system that kept me playing for hours, and most of all, a very different story.

The story in Final Fantasy Tactics was very different from other Final Fantasy games and the concepts that were put in were very original. Sure, you'll end up facing against a last boss that wants to destroy the world, but the story leading up to that point was much more interesting. It also touches on things that have rarely been done, the most important being religion and heresy. The main character's motivation for most of the game isn't for himself, revenge, or a grudge; it's because he makes his decisions knowing in mind that he has to do what is right, and he doesn't even get anything in return most of the time.
